2019 AREF Awards Gala
Featuring: Dany H. Assaf, Armughan Ahmad, and Abdullah Snobar.
Saturday, October 26th, 2019
ARCA Banquet Facility, Edmonton, AB
The Cambridge Dictionary defines Disruption as: ‘A disruptive technology that overturns a traditional business model, which makes it much harder for an established firm to embrace’. Technologies that we take for granted today, like smartphones, only existed in the imagination of Sci-Fi film writers. Today, we can not live without them. The topic for AREF’s sixth Awards Gala will focus on the many business and practical aspects of Disruptive Technologies and will take us on a journey of discovery and imagination.
This year, three notable Canadian leaders shared their views on disruption. Our panel discussion featured:
Dany H. Assaf, Partner and Co-Chair of Competition and Foreign Investment Review Practice at Torys LLP
Armughan Ahmad, Canadian Managing Partner and President, digital and technology solutions at KPMG Canada
Abdullah Snobar, Executive Director at the DMZ at Ryerson University
